| Household Hints... Clean Copper Combine equal parts white flour and salt. Add white vineger and mix until a thick paste is formed. Apply to tarnished spots with a damp cloth, let sit for 10 minutes then rinse in hot water, dry immediatly. Cast Iron To keep a cast iron pan well seasoned, after use wash with soapy water, lightly wipe dry and place on a low heat until all the moisture evaporates. With a paper towel rub a light coat of vegetable oil on the inside. Electric Grinder To clean between different uses like coffee or spices, wipe out with a dry towel then grind some dry bread. The bread should remove any lingering scents or flavors. |
